Dustin F. Weitz, DDS, MS
Dr. Weitz is a native of the Palouse, born in Pullman and raised in Moscow. Dr. Weitz studied abroad in Santiago, Chile for his junior year of high school as a Rotary Exchange Student. In 1996, Dr. Weitz matriculated at the University of the Pacific where he completed his undergraduate coursework in 2 years and went on to graduate with high honors from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 2001; he was inducted into both Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Tau Kappa Omega honor societies. At the age of 22, he entered practice with his father, Gerald E. Weitz, DDS, becoming the youngest practicing dentist in the country. He continued practicing general dentistry in Moscow until 2018 when he was accepted as a resident and Master of Science degree candidate at the University of Minnesota. He spent 6 months as a clinical instructor in restorative sciences and pre-doctoral endodontics prior to beginning his program. He was selected as the chief resident in the Department of Endodontics at University of Minnesota. His research focused on identifying factors related to local anesthesia success and failure during endodontic procedures and he received his certificate of advanced training in endodontics and Master of Science degree from the University of Minnesota in 2020. Dr. Weitz remains involved with organized dentistry and has served as president of the Lewis-Clark Dental Society and serves on the American Association of Endodontists Academic Affairs Committee. Dr. Weitz lives in Viola with his children, Alex and Elizabeth. His numerous hobbies include skiing, agriculture, playing musical instruments and flying as a private pilot.
